As she enters school, Willow and Gus greet her and Amity presents Luz with a fairy pie. The four are soon called to the principal's office where Bump, with Amity's mother and father, tells the group that Luz, Willow, and Gus are expelled. Luz begs Amity to speak up for them, but she only gives a silent apology as Odalia sneers. After the three are thrown out of school, Luz confronts the Blights and Odalia gives her a business card to talk things out. Willow and Gus reject the idea and the three try multiple times to sneak back into school. As Crow Phones arrive to take Willow and Gus to their angry parents, Amity appears and apologizes for not doing anything.
With the Titan's magic, Luz returns to the living world in a new titan-witch. After saving Eda, King, and the Collector, the owl family burn away Belos' mouldy tendrils while the Collector keeps the archive house up high so it will not crash. After flying up high into space, the trio speedily flies back to the castle to cut Belos off from his powers. Luz rushes to Belos who is hanging from the heart, while Eda, King, and Raine hold back his mould in an attempt to protect himself. With all her might, Luz successfully rips Belos off from the heart and causes all the mould around the isles to stop and disintegrate into ash, though the Titan's left arm remains up in the air. After recovering from the explosion, Luz finds Belos, who forms into his younger self.
He hates admitting that he is wrong about anything to her, as it would give her bragging rights. Due to his small body, he is usually found being held like an infant by her, showing that they are at least close. To King, Luz is his best friend and surrogate sister, and probably the most comforting person he can be with. He expresses jealousy whenever Luz hangs out with other people, such as Gus, Willow and Amity, although the trait mellowed down considerably as time passed.
Eda Clawthorne
Hunter's loyalty to Belos comes to an almost obsessive degree in "Eclipse Lake", as Belos tells him in his life, everyone in existence has a use and his own usefulness will come when the time is right. Hunter believes that if he himself can't be useful, he considers himself "worthless". This obsession has affected Hunter's mental health, as he has a mental breakdown for a moment when he feels he failed again. However, he chooses his belief as he sees the portal key around Amity's neck. After the fight Hunter went as far as using dirty tricks by threatening to harm Luz if she doesn't surrender the key, but after she does hand it over, he does show genuine gratitude, visible remorse about this before leaving, showing he did so out of desperation and fear of his Uncle, not malice.
When Darius takes them and their palismen, Hunter is reminded that their palismen are to be given to Belos, Hunter regrets of what he has done having realized the way he was raised is not normal. Hunter goes to rescue them and when Darius is about to attack them, Hunter protects them and helps them leave, abandoning his title in the process. Despite everything that's happened, Hunter hears that Willow, Gus and the rest do consider him as a friend. Instead of scolding Hunter, Darius praises him and gives him a scroll to contact them as he needs connections outside the castle. In "Hunting Palismen", he begs Emperor Belos to let him help him with his declining condition using wild magic, which his uncle immediately shuts down, stating that wild magic is the reason that their family is gone and instead sends him out to find more palismen after depleting their resources.
When Luz notes how much Willow and Gus seem to like him, she becomes mortified when Hunter then notes that she herself likely hasn't mentioned helping out Philip to them, with Hunter then asking her not to tell them. Later, when Kikimora reveals that Belos knows about the plan to stop the Draining Spell, Luz decides she needs to warn Eda and the others and has Gus disguise her as Hunter and vice versa, knowing that Kikimora planned to take "Hunter" right to Belos. When Luz dies saving the Collector from Belos' blast and finds herself in the In Between Realm with King's dad, she feels guilty for having wished for the Collector to destroy Belos like he did last time.
When Hunter went undercover at Hexside to recruit some students for the Emperor's Coven, he at first believe they weren't fit for the team, but after playing with them during the game he gets along with them and decided to name them the Emerald Entrails. After remorsefully betraying and taking them to the Emperor's Coven, he decided to save them from Darius. He lets them go and claims they were unfitting for the Emperor's Coven, he even starting his own website and started talking with them. They later show gratitude for him by allowing him to hide out in the Healing homeroom and later showing concern for where he has been.
The tunnels were filled with a substance known as "Fool's Blood", which signifies a decaying vein. Realizing Eda, King, and Amity are heading for danger, she tries to get to a crystal ball to warn them. Because of her illness she is unable to see clearly, and ends up breaking the crystal ball. She calls out for Willow, Gus, and Hooty for help, but they are too busy mixing up audio sounds to hear her. So, she calls Amity through the devices they share, unaware that she has dropped hers.
